At Katapult, our preschool program is about more than learning dance steps. We use movement as a way to support children’s physical, emotional, and social development, helping them grow into confident, capable little humans who feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

Our preschool classes run Monday to Saturday, making it easy for families to find a routine that fits their week. Each program is carefully structured to meet children where they are developmentally, while gently preparing them for the next stage of their journey.

My Big Person & Me (Ages 1 to 2)

This class is a gentle introduction to dance for our youngest movers and their trusted adult. Together, you will explore music, movement, coordination, and rhythm in a calm, playful environment.

These classes support early confidence, listening skills, body awareness, and connection, while helping children feel comfortable in a class setting for the very first time.

Tiny Tots (Ages 2 to 3)

Tiny Tots combines ballet and jazz in a fun, engaging class designed for toddlers who are ready to participate more independently.

Through imaginative movement and simple structure, dancers begin developing balance, musicality, coordination, and confidence. Just as importantly, they learn how to follow instructions, take turns, and be part of a group.

Mum’s Morning Off (Ages 3 to 6)

Mum’s Morning Off is our extended preschool program designed for children who are ready for a fuller class experience. And yes… it also means a genuine block of uninterrupted time for parents ☺️

This program combines our Tiny Dancer and Tiny Tumbler classes, giving dancers exposure to ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and hip hop in one structured morning. Children also enjoy a shared morning tea break, helping them learn independence, self care, and social connection.

Mum’s Morning Off supports focus, resilience, confidence, and physical strength, while encouraging children to take ownership of their learning in a safe and nurturing environment.

Across all preschool classes, our experienced teachers focus on the whole child. We build confidence, coordination, listening skills, and emotional resilience alongside age appropriate dance technique.

At Katapult, preschool dance is not just about movement. It is about helping children develop the skills they need to thrive, both in the studio and beyond.
